Over the last three weeks, we had the opportunity to host the Sui Workshop in Kathmandu, alongside students from Pulchowk Campus, Nepal’s top engineering institution. Designed as a five-part technical series, the workshop introduced over 30 students to the Sui network and smart contract development using the Move language.
Each session focused on building real-world technical capacity, culminating in a final-day project showcase where students presented 11 working prototypes. From an on-chain poker game to document verification tools, the creativity and execution shown by the participants were outstanding.
We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Antoine Blanc, Global Head of Sui Community, Remy Peretti, Community Lead APAC & Vietnam, and Will Riches, Head of Sui DevRel, for their consistent support. Remy’s presence during the kickoff set a collaborative tone, while Will’s virtual walkthrough of Sui’s Introduction encouraged deep discussion and fresh perspectives among the students.
The goal of the workshop was to foster young talent and onboard the next generation of developers into the Sui ecosystem – an initiative that reflects the broader vision shared by Christian Thompson, Managing Director of the Sui Foundation:
We’re excited to continue this momentum and grow the Sui community across South Asia—one workshop, one builder, one dream at a time!
