Bhutan join the Sui Hacker House

As blockchain adoption sweeps across Asia, Bhutan quietly steps onto the decentralized stage, bringing its values of mindfulness, sustainability, and integrity to the Sui ecosystem. The Sui Hacker House Kathmandu marked the very first participation of Bhutanese teams in a Web3 builders’ event, sparking meaningful collaboration and innovation.

The Bhutanese delegation included a team of innovators from institutions under Druk Holding and Investments (DHI) — Bhutan’s leading investment and innovation arm. Over the week, the participants dove into workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on development on the Sui blockchain, many exploring Sui development tools for the first time. Their curiosity quickly turned into creativity, as both teams successfully delivered working prototypes by the end of the event, showing just how quickly Bhutan’s tech talent can adapt and innovate.

Druk Holding and Investments (DHI) is the commercial arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan. Tasked with managing state-owned enterprises and investing in the country’s economic future, DHI plays a crucial role in driving innovation, digital infrastructure, and technology adoption across Bhutan.

We were honored to welcome Phuntsho Namgay, Head of the Department of Innovation and Technology, who joined as a guest and shared Bhutan’s broader vision for digital innovation and mindfulness.
